The Rich Idiot is based on Luke 12: 16-20
A best-selling author’s latest book sold much, much better than expected. The author thought to themselves, ‘Uh, what am I going to do with all this extra money?’
Then they told themselves, ‘I know what! I’ll rip out my basement and build a big extension with a swimming pool. My house will be worth loads! Then I’ll have plenty of money for my retirement: I can take things easy. Go travel, take up a hobby, enjoy some me time.’
But God said to him, ‘You idiot! This very night I’m going to take back the life I gave you. And then who’s going to get all that stuff you’ve hoarded up for yourself?’
